Waggle
Bedtime stories for the TV

A short, safe story for your child. You approve it first.

Pick an idea and something to practise, like counting or feelings. Waggle turns it into a short story from reviewed templates. Nothing reaches your TV until you say yes.

A prototype for demonstration. The demo uses sample pictures and sound, costs nothing, and asks for made-up names only.

Four steps, and you are in charge of each

Waggle is for a parent and a child. The parent makes the choices on a phone; the child plays on the TV with the remote.

  1. ChooseWho the story is about, where it happens, and what to practise: big pictures for a two-year-old, words for an older child.
  2. CheckRead it. Add pictures, music or a voice if you like, and look at each one yourself before it can be used.
  3. ApproveOnly the parent's phone can approve. An assistant can build a story, but it cannot put one on the TV.
  4. WatchIt appears on your family's TV page and plays with the remote's arrows and OK. It ends by itself on a calm screen.

Safe by design

  • Reviewed templatesThe structure, the choices and the safety rules are fixed. A story only fills in the blanks.
  • Nothing to click away toNo links, no purchases, no ads and no open text for the child. A time limit ends every story.
  • A parent's gateEvery story waits for approval. Pictures, music and voices are checked by you before the TV can use them.
  • Your child's name stays with youIt is never sent to a model, and the demo asks for made-up names only.

Get started

You do not install one thing per device. The phone and the TV need nothing at all; the rest is optional.

Works today

1. On your phone

Open the studio in any browser. Nothing to install. Start a family space, or open a family link you were given.

3. With Alexa

One Alexa skill, not one per device. It would let you draft a story by voice, and later drive lights and other smart-home devices, so each needs no install of its own.

4. Ring and Bee

These two connect through a small home bridge on a computer at home, not through Alexa. Ring signals are examples for now, and Bee has only been tested against a stand-in.
